Laboratory Demonstration

Laboratory Demonstration

A simple laboratory demonstration of the Water JetA1 discriminator can be shown using fittings and samples provided.

Warnings

Testing should only be performed in laboratory conditions following recognised standards and in line with local health and safety guidelines. When attaching pipe fittings/adapters:- ensure that the ‘T’ piece and main electronics unit are well supported to prevent undue stress between them.

Procedure is as follows:

Water JetA1 discriminator
  1. Connect shut off valve to one side of the unit to form a controlled exit path.
  2. Attach the short length of clear tube with funnel attachment to other end for the supply input.
  3. If there is no mixer solution then this can be made up by adding 4ml of water and 5ml of JetA1 to the mixer vial.
  4. Turn unit on
  5. Whilst holding the unit to ensure the input is upper most and the value is closed (horizontal), carefully add the JetA1 Water mixer solution.
  6. After allowing to settle (few seconds), the indicator will show green.
  7. Place the mixer bottle under the valve.
  8. Carefully open the valve to desired flow rate making sure to capture fluid mix.
  9. Indicator will change to red once all the water has past the sensor head, leaving just JetA1.
  10. This will revert to green once all JetA1 exits the pipe work

This demonstration can be repeated.
Once complete, ethanol should be squirted through to clean residues of remaining JetA1.
Waste ethanol should be disposed of carefully.
