Diesel Bug - The Basics' is a brand new, free booklet available for the first time at Seawork 2011. It provides a simple, no nonsense introduction to the complex issue of what the diesel bug is.
It is aimed at managers needing a brief overview or as a first step on the knowledge ladder for technical staff.
Conidia Bioscience, inventors and manufacturers of the 10 minute test detecting microbial contamination, have distilled the essence of this subject into this a digestible synopsis, as part of their drive to provide good quality, impartial and easily accessible information to fuel users.
Conidia worked with ImAREST's Small Ships Group in October 2010, to run the Marine Fuel Conference which culminated in the publishing the downloadable book (link) which is currently the best detailed guide to the operational management of the marine diesel bug problem. This book costs just £ for member or £ for non-members. The 2010 conference, entitled Marine Fuel Forum, shared the road transport industry experience of the new low sulphur, higher biodiesel content fuel, to assist marine users to prepare, in turn for their changes.
Free copies of the 'Diesel Bug – the Basics' booklet are available from Conidia's Seawork stand B157.
Update: Diesel Bug - Basics is now available online and downloadable as a pdf book.
